I joined Pawshake a few years ago, trying to find someone to visit our cat whilst we were on holiday. At that time we had only recently moved to Balerno and didn't have any friends or family who could pop by. I realised that there may be lots of other pet owners in the same situation and signed up to pet sit too.
I've always had animals in my life and love the way a happy furry friend is able to make a house a home and bring a smile to your face. 
I have two cats - willow and Rollo and a Cocker Spaniel, Kiko keeping me on my toes at home. Over the years I've had  several other cats and a variety of rabbits and other small animals.
I understand that while you're away it's important to know that your pet is well taken care of and your home is safe and secure too. I will happily water plants, collect mail and do other little jobs to make sure your home is a just as you left it when you return.
I aim to offer the same care and attention to other pets that I would like mine to have whilst I was away. Based in Balerno, I am ideally placed for pet sitting in the Lanark Road area. I work from home so can visit any time of day. 
I only pet-sit for one household at a time so that I can spend quality time with your pet as well as taking care of their needs. If your cats prefer two or even three meals a day, I am happy to set timer feeders to accommodate this.

Hello! Sam here, I'm a dog walker/sitter with 10+ years experience, having lived with dogs of all varieties for most of my life.
I was a baby when the Labrador down the road decided it liked spending more time with our family than the owners, so we adopted him. His name was Sam too, clearly we were meant for each other. As a teenager my Dad trusted me to train and take care of Flynn, a rather quiet German Shepard. More recently my partner and I adopted a beautiful border collie, unfortunately she had epilepsy and so required a lot of care, but she was absolutely worth every second of it.
I've also helped many other people when they needed someone to look after their pets. This includes dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities—a giant doberman, a lazy greyhound, an excited border collie, a shy terrier, and many others.
As I'm currently a freelancer that works from home, my schedule is easily flexible and can be shaped to fit whatever your requirements are. Morning, days, and nights are all available. Every pet is different and I'm happy to cater to their unique needs and maintain their routines. I can go for long walks, lavish them with attention, feed them at the right times, clean up after them, and give them any required medications.
More information on the services I can offer:

House Sitting—I focus on this as I work from home and will have plenty of time to spend with your pets and look after your home. I can also go anywhere accessible via public transport, but for shorter stays and longer distances I may ask for help covering the travel costs.
Dog Walks &amp; Drop-ins—Because house sitting takes me all over the place I can't offer regular walks, but short-term requests are possible in the Linlithgow area. I’ll keep the calendar up to date with my availability, feel free to get in touch with any questions or specific requests!



I’m a 34 year old IT professional who works from home, and I’ve been around dogs my whole life. My husband and I currently have a friendly, 4month old Labrador puppy (crate-trained) who loves meeting dogs of all ages and sizes.I grew up with rescue dogs and now have a playful puppy of my own, so I’m very comfortable with different personalities, needs and energy levels. While my puppy isn’t quite ready for long adventures yet, I absolutely adore long walks. I used to take my family dogs out and live near great routes around the Pentlands and the Water of Leith.No matter what your dog needs, walks, cuddles, feeding, or just company, I’ll ensure they are safe and well cared for while they’re with me.&nbsp;
I work remotely, so will be home every day and my work is very flexible which allows me to pop out for toilet breaks/walks regularly
I live in an house in a quiet cul-de-sac with a fenced off back garden with lots of grassy areas closeby. I also live very close to the Water of Leith and the Pentlands I’m a calm and caring person, and I truly appreciate the trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s hands. Your dog will be treated like my own, with all the affection, exercise and attention they deserve.&nbsp;
My preference would be for dogs that are well behaved and okay to be in a home with another friendly dog, if they are staying my home. Please let me know if your dog has any special requirements.&nbsp;
I'm based near lots of fantastic walking routes near my house including the Water of Leith and the Pentlands. I also enjoying spending times with dogs keeping them entertained and mentally stimulated
