We offer a calm, home-from-home environment for dogs who aren’t suited to kennels or who would prefer a peaceful and relaxed home and as much company as they would like.
We work from home and are always on hand so your dog gets our full attention, space, and a genuinely relaxed stay.
Our home is set on half an acre with secure fencing and gated access, giving plenty of safe outdoor space to explore. The house itself is fully secure, alarmed, and designed to be a comfortable, quiet environment.
Both of us work from home, so your dog is rarely left alone and has consistent supervision, interaction, and care throughout the day.
Each stay is tailored to your dog’s routine. Whether they prefer a more relaxed environment or lots of activity, we adapt to suit them. This can include:

Regular access to the garden throughout the day
Walks on Canford Heath (within walking distance)
Visits to local secure dog parks
Plenty of rest, attention, and companionship at home

We aim to keep things as close as possible to your dog’s normal home life, so they feel settled and comfortable.
This setup is particularly well suited to:

Anxious or sensitive dogs
Older dogs who benefit from a quieter environment
And of course any dogs who like to be spoiled and be with people in general!

I'm a primary school teacher looking to spend some of my summer holidays caring for pets. As I'm off during the summer, I'm flexible and available for daytime visits throughout the week. I've always loved animals and enjoy spending time with them, so pet sitting is the perfect way to spend my holidays.
I currently have a six-year-old rescue cat who enjoys supervised walks on a lead, so I'm confident with all aspects of cat care, including harness walking. I've previously owned a Beagle and a Cocker Spaniel and have experience walking, feeding, playing with and caring for dogs. I also regularly help friends and family with their pets and completed work experience at a dog rescue, where I cared for dogs with different personalities, ages and needs. I've also owned rabbits, rats and hamsters, so I'm happy caring for a wide range of animals.
Walks are tailored to each dog's age, energy level and routine, whether that's a gentle stroll or a longer walk. During every visit I'll make sure your pet has fresh water, food, plenty of attention and playtime, and I'll clean litter trays, cages or hutches if needed. I'll happily send photo and message updates so you know your pet is safe and happy, and in the unlikely event of an emergency, I'll contact you immediately and follow any instructions you've provided. I have a lot of experience house and pet sitting and regularly pet sit a gorgeous golden lab who brings me so much joy! Dogs always come up to me when I'm out walking and I'm told this is due to my calm nature and cats feel relaxed around me, I feel very honoured.
I grew up with all types of animals - cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits etc but have a special fondness for dogs. I'd love one of my own but renting won't allow this sadly :(
I am fit and healthy so can handle dogs of all sizes and LOVE long walks so I'll have no issues taking your pooch out for longer walks if that's what they need.
I used to work in the NHS as a Radiographer but now I work from home as a Functional Health Practitioner so I'm extremely flexible and can be available to sit any time of the year.

I took early retirement from the Criminal Justice System nearly 10 years ago and I’ve now decided to turn my passion for dogs into something that I can do in my spare time. I am of course fully DBS checked and insured with the nations leading pet insurer Petplan, but more important than anything, I just love dogs! I’ve had dogs literally from the moment I was born and my favourites are big dogs such as Border Collies, German Shepherds, Retrievers and Labradors.

I have experience in training and handling deaf dogs as my previous border collie was deaf and I taught her how we could communicate by me using hand signals and we went on to obtain our bronze and silver good citizen awards. I have also taken my current dog scent training and to Hoopers Agility as she has arthritis. I’m quite happy looking after and medicating old or infirm dogs and we can provide our own doggy pushchair if need be. 

I’m first aid trained, have attended dog massage and alternative therapy workshops, agility classes and have experience in animal healing and reiki.

Location 
We are ideally located next to Turbary Common, one of Bournemouth’s important nature reserves and the largest area of heathland in north Bournemouth. It offers a lovely natural setting with heathland, wooded areas, scrub, and peaceful walking routes, giving dogs plenty of interesting sights and smells to enjoy. Being so close to this beautiful green space means we can offer varied daily walks with opportunities for gentle exercise, sniffing, exploring, and mental stimulation. We are always mindful that Turbary Common is a protected nature reserve, so walks are planned responsibly and in line with local guidance, including lead requirements when needed.&nbsp;
Garden 
We also have a fully secured, spacious garden where dogs can enjoy safe outdoor time throughout the day. It is a lovely space for supervised play, stretching their legs, exploring, and of course doing plenty of important sniffing!&nbsp;
Equipment / Crate 
If your pet is crate-trained or enjoys having their own enclosed resting space, we can provide a suitable crate for small to medium-sized dogs, so there is no need to bring your own.  Crate size: 70 cm (H) × 80.5 cm (W) × 59 cm (D). In addition, for maximum safety and peace of mind, we usetwo secure safety gates positioned within the home. These are placed in doorways to help manage movement around the house and significantly reduce the risk of accidental escape. This allows us to maintain a controlled, safe environment while still giving your pet plenty of space to relax and move comfortably.&nbsp;
Children 
We have two considerate children aged 10 and 14. They are calm, respectful, and used to being around animals.  Your pet will receive plenty of positive attention; however, we fully understand that not all pets enjoy cuddles or constant interaction. If your pet prefers their own space, this will always be respected.&nbsp;
Smoke-Free Home 
Our home is completely smoke-free, providing a clean, fresh, and healthy environment.  Your pet will return home relaxed and comfortable — no lingering smells, just happy memories.&nbsp;
Rules and Routine 
We respect and follow your pet’s established routines and house rules.  Whether that means no furniture access or full “four-legged royalty” privileges, we will stick to what works best for your pet. From structured days to relaxed evenings with gentle company— and the occasional Netflix cuddle — we will ensure your pet’s stay feels familiar, safe, and enjoyable.&nbsp;
Capacity
Our home boarding is intentionally kept small-scale and is offered on a limited basis around our existing commitments. We do not operate as a high-volume boarding business, and availability varies depending on our circumstances and whether we feel we can provide the right level of care and attention to each dog. Every booking is considered individually, taking into account the dog’s personality, individual needs, size, temperament, and suitability for sharing the home environment with any other dogs who may be staying with us. There are also periods when we do not take any boarding bookings at all, and at other times we may have only one dog staying with us. Where circumstances and availability allow, we may occasionally be able to offer solo boarding. Our priority is always to accept only the bookings that comfortably fit around our existing commitments and allow us to provide a calm, attentive and enjoyable home environment for the dogs staying with us.&nbsp;
