Top cities for cat sitting in United Kingdom

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Derby Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Derby cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Derby cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Thank you for considering me as your pet sitter.

I am a lifelong animal owner and lover. Particularly dogs and cats. I appreciate that dog and cat pawrents have life commitments and holidays which can't always include our four legged companions and I want to offer my time to help and reassure you whilst you are away. I have cared for friends pets before, and happy to care for animals in any way I can (and understand the not so glam parts of being an animal owner too ).
I currently own a cocker spaniel, but care for my parents Weimaraner X GSP and cats when they are away. I don't currently own a cat due to where I live not being suitable, but I have owned them in the past.
The animal welfare act 2006 will always be adhered to with any animal in my care. I am DBS checked and hold a full clean driving licence with access to my own vehicle.
On my visits, cuddles and photo updates are guaranteed! If you think me and your pet could be a match, please get in touch. I can offer early morning, evenings after 4pm and weekend visits.

Hi! I’m currently studying Dance Movement Psychotherapy at the University of Derby, which might sound a bit unusual for pet sitting but it means I’m trained to understand emotions and body language beyond words.
I’ve always been surrounded by animals. I used to have three dogs and two cats, I also have experience caring for rabbits, turtles, ferrets, and parrots (my mum has two!), which has made me comfortable adapting to different temperaments and care needs.
Since moving to the UK, I’ve really missed my pets, which is one of the reasons I’m so drawn to pet sitting. Being around animals brings me comfort, and I genuinely enjoy building trust with them.
In terms of daily care, I tailor everything to your pet. For dogs, I usually offer 30–60 minute walks depending on their energy level, along with playtime and companionship at home. For cats and smaller animals, I focus on maintaining their routine and gentle interaction. I pay close attention to feeding schedules, water intake, cleanliness, and overall wellbeing.
When it comes to behaviour, I approach pets with patience and understanding. If a pet shows signs of anxiety, overexcitement, I focus on creating a safe and predictable environment rather than forcing interaction. I use gentle redirection and calm presence to support them in settling. I respect each animal’s boundaries while also maintaining clear structure.
I am comfortable administering basic medication (such as oral medication if clearly instructed), and I always follow the owner’s guidance carefully. I provide regular updates with photos and messages so you can feel reassured while you’re away. If any unexpected situation arises, I stay calm, observe carefully, and contact you promptly while taking appropriate action to ensure your pet’s safety.
Through my volunteering experience, I’ve developed strong responsibility, patience, and reliability. I only accept vaccinated pets and always maintain a clean, safe, and peaceful environment.
I understand how important your pet is to you, and I will treat them with warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care just like they’re my own.

From as far back as I can remember, animals—especially dogs—have held a special place in my heart. Their loyalty, joy, and unique personalities inspire me every day. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I do; it’s something I genuinely love. Whether it’s going on long, energetic walks or offering calm, comforting companionship, I’m dedicated to making every pet feel safe, happy, and understood.Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and my love for dogs runs especially deep. I’ve grown up surrounded by pets, and over the years I’ve learned just how important trust, patience, and compassion are when caring for them. Being able to spend my time walking, playing with, and looking after dogs isn’t just a job for me—it’s something I truly enjoy and feel passionate about.

I treat every dog as if they were my own, paying attention to their needs, routines, and quirks. From playful pups to gentle seniors, I enjoy building trust and creating a bond that makes them feel comfortable and excited to see me. My passion for animals drives me to provide dependable, loving care—something both pets and their owners can count on.

With me, your dog will always be in caring, capable hands.
I normally walk dogs for however long you and your dog would like to be walked they vary from £15 an hour.

Hi! I'm rom Malaysia and I'm currently working in the UK. I grew up with dogs since childhood. Previously had 2 german shepherds, 2 dalmations and currently, we have 5 mongrels. Recently our dogs had a litter of 6 puppies, we took care of them till 3 months old and gave 3 of them away. I have grown to appreciate dogs over time, especially after nurturing our litter of puppies from birth. Seeing them grow up from the size of my palm to the height of my waist, is simply priceless. I have some basic experience in training dogs, managed to train some of my dogs to sit, stay, lie down, stand up, shake hand. I enjoy walking dogs, running them and playing with them. Back in Malaysia, where my dogs are, I would play tug of war and chase with them. We love just about any dog, it's always fun to spend time with them.
My schedule is flexible and can accommodate morning, afternoon and evening visits. As a student, I am always free on the weekends for walks, visit, boarding, etc.
Depending on the dog's personality and needs, I cuddle them, give them attention, or simply leave them alone. If they are the active type, playing toys with them or taking them for a walk is how I would care for them.
The services I provide are Dog Walking, Home visits and House Sitting (where I stay in pet owner's house). My dog walks can range from 30 minutes up to 2 hours depending on your request. During House Sitting I can do as many dog walks as you wish per day. I can supervise pets 24/7, but I trust that you will be reasonable with me leaving the house when necessary.
I do not do Home Dog Boarding or Doggy Daycare due to my flat not being suitable for it.
My services do not grooming.
