Top cities for cat sitting in United Kingdom

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Ilkeston Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Ilkeston cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Ilkeston cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

My name is Kathryn and I live in Smalley, Derbyshire with my husband and 2 Cockapoo’s called Cosmo & Coco, who are 16 and still going strong. I grew up around farm animals, plus dogs and have owned dog breeds such as Cocker Spaniels, Cockerpoo’s and Labradors.
Cosmo is an anxious dog, so I am used to senior and anxious dogs. I want your dog(s) to feel comfortable with me in their home whilst you are away and in my care.
I have been house/pet sitting for nearly 2 years for friends and family and decided in 2026 to make this my full-time profession.
I offer 2 x 30 mins walks per 24 hours.
I will always check whether your pets can be left alone and ensure I am never gone more than a maximum of 4 hours. I am also happy to stay without time away.
I provided you with regular updates whilst you are away. I ensure I have all your contact details for vets, so in the case of an emergency, I can keep you in the loop.
I offer a pre-home safety visit to get to know you, your pets and your house. I always want to make sure I understand your pets personally and all their requirements.
I can provide non-injectable medications to your pets
I have a dog first aid certificate, enhanced DBS fully insured.
I am willing to water plants and collect in small parcels too.
I am happy to look after additional pets, such as cats, rabbits, fish and caged birds at no extra cost.
I can provide telephone referees

My name is Magda I'm 29.
I'm mum of mainecoon cat Aiko :) she big fluffy girl and she's 5 years old. I know how hard is to find good and trustworthy help with animals , I've been in this situation so many times. I know how we all feel about even leave our animals for 1 hour going for shopping etc. I wish to keep all animals happy I've been taking care of my friends animals cats and dogs so I think I can offer my help to others as well.
I would love to offer my help with dogs and cats , home visits , dog walking all what need to be done and all what animal needs to be happy ️ I love to walking with dogs, always remember to have some snacks for them when they well behaved. Trying to not interacting with other dogs to avoid stressful situations.
If anyone needs help with lizards or different animals feel free to ask I would love to help as well.
I will not be able to take any animals home unfortunately because I don't want to stress my cat.

With years of experience in dog daycares, grooming salons, and kennels, I’ve honed my ability to handle animals of all temperaments, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I’ve spent my life surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes, from large and small dog breeds to cats, bearded dragons, tortoises, and guinea pigs. Alongside my practical experience, I’ve completed studies in Animal Science, Management, and Behaviour, giving me a well-rounded understanding of pets’ physical and emotional needs.
Running my own pet care business, KTM Pets, for over a year has further enhanced my hands-on skills and deepened my passion for providing personalised, attentive care. I’m qualified in Pet First Aid and Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Business, and I always stay up to date with the latest advancements in pet care to offer the very best for your furry, scaly, or feathered companions. Fully licensed, DBS-checked, and committed to providing safe, loving, and reliable care, I cater to all pets—whether it’s a walk, an overnight stay, or assistance with special needs like administering medication.
Your pets will be in expert hands, and I look forward to offering them the same level of care and attention as if they were my own!

I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I’ve been around a wide variety of pets over the years, so I understand that every animal has their own routine and personality. At home I currently have a pug, a Persian cat and three rabbits, so I’m used to everything from energetic dogs to more relaxed, independent pets.
I’ve recently been travelling for the past six months, and one of the things I’ve missed most is being around animals. Now that I’m back, I’d love to spend time doing something I genuinely enjoy, while giving pet owners peace of mind that their pets are being properly cared for.
I’m calm, reliable, and attentive, and I’ll always treat your pet like they’re my own. For dogs, I’m happy to do 30–60 minute walks depending on their needs, as well as feeding, playtime and keeping them company. For pets at home, I’ll stick closely to their usual routine so they feel as comfortable as possible.
I’m confident looking after multiple pets at once and adjusting to different behaviours, whether that’s a more energetic dog or a quieter, more nervous pet that just needs patience and consistency.
I’ll also send regular updates and photos while you’re away so you can feel reassured everything is going smoothly. I’m happy to care for vaccinated pets and will always prioritise their safety, wellbeing, and happiness. I’m currently available from 25th May to 10th June and can be flexible during this time. I’m also happy to follow specific care instructions, including medication or special diets, and I’ll always stay calm and responsive if anything unexpected comes up.

Caring and Experienced Cat Sitter
I am a dedicated and caring cat lover with over five years of experience raising my own cats. Cats have always been my favorite animals because of their unique personalities, independence, and gentle nature. Taking care of them brings me genuine happiness and fulfillment.

In addition to caring for my own cats, I have also helped friends look after their cats when they were away. My responsibilities included feeding, cleaning litter boxes, playing with them, and making sure they felt safe and comfortable in their home environment. I understand that every cat has a different personality—some are playful and energetic, while others are shy and need patience and gentle attention. I always respect their space and adjust my care according to their needs.

When I was younger, I also had experience raising a dog, which helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility in caring for animals. However, cats have always held a special place in my heart.

I am responsible, patient, and attentive, and I will treat your cat as if it were my own. I will update owners the pets condition by sending photos to them. My goal is to make sure your pet feels loved and well cared for while you are away, so you can have peace of mind.
