Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Musselburgh Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Musselburgh cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Musselburgh cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Hi! I’m Ricco and I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a home with dogs and always had pets around me, so caring for them has been a big part of my life.
I moved from Hong Kong to the UK almost four years ago and have fallen in love with Edinburgh — it’s such a wonderful place to live and share with pets!
Back in Hong Kong, I worked in animal rescue for over 10 years, helping injured and newborn cats and dogs. This experience gave me the skills, patience, and confidence to care for pets of all kinds. I truly enjoy spending time with animals, and I am committed and responsible in everything I do for them.
Since moving to the UK almost four years ago, I have continued my dedication to pets. I brought with me two dogs I rescued from the streets, and caring for them has been a rewarding daily commitment.
My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from my love for animals and my desire to give them comfort, care, and happiness while their owners are away. I am patient, responsible, and attentive, and I enjoy building trust with both pets and their families. I also offer services such as daily walks, feeding, and playtime, ensuring that pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for during their stay.I work from home, so I can spend a lot of time with them, provide companionship, and take care of their needs throughout the day. I make sure that the pets are taken at least three times a day, or more if needed.
There is a large lakeside park about a five-minute walk from my home, where I can take them for walks in the morning or in the evening. In addition, there is a fenced park just outside my back door where they can also go for walks and get some exercise
As I have previously worked in a large animal centre, I understand that different pets have different personalities. This allows me to manage and care for more than two pets from different households, helping them get along safely.
My home has three separate rooms, which makes it easy to keep pets apart when needed and gradually introduce them to each other at a comfortable pace. Pets are welcome to jump on the sofa and sleep, and they are also free to move around the house.

Hello! My name is Guilherme, and I’m a pet lover based in Musselburgh. I currently have two lovely cats, but I grew up surrounded by dogs and have always had a deep connection with them. Since moving abroad, I’ve really missed being around dogs, which is what inspired me to start dog walking. For me, this isn’t just a job, it’s a way to reconnect with the joy and energy that dogs bring into everyday life.
I’m friendly, reliable, and patient, and I genuinely enjoy spending time outdoors with animals. Whether your dog loves an active walk or prefers a slow, sniff-filled stroll, I’ll make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for.
I’d be delighted to meet you and your dog, and help you with regular or occasional walks. Please feel free to get in touch.
I look forward to meeting your furry friend!

Hello!
My name is Ellie, I'm 32 from England. Myself and my partner are pet sitting within Edinburgh for the next few months, living at pets home. As we are full time pet sitting, I am looking for dog walks, and cat check ins. In terms of my experience, I've been a full and part time dog walker since 2019, and done countless dog and cat sits since then.I've volunteered through 'workaway', where I've house and pet sat for a range of animals (dogs, cats, alpacas, chickens), and helped at multiple animal sanctuaries too (I had a rescue lamb named after me 🥲).
I am respectful of your home, will give your animals lots of love, exercise, and time to do what they enjoy (be that playing, sniffing, laying in the sun, whatever they love to do!). As well as providing you with plenty of updates and photos, for peace of mind. Plenty of references available.
I'd love to hear from you, with any questions or dates you're in need of help!
Thank you, Ellie

Hello! I'm a recent graduate looking to meet more cats after being raised around cats my whole life! I have experience with looking after all sorts of cats, from young to old, some with medical requirements and some without. I can issue medication via pills or eye drops, play and cuddle with your cats and can usually spend up to two hours per visit taking care and getting to know them.
I currently own one cat and have some catsitting experience already, I am happy to care for any cats. However, as my own cat is timid around other cats I am unable to take cats into my home.
I am also happy to commute to anywhere in the city, and I can offer free meet and greets. I am very good with nervous and shy cats as well as sweet and friendly cats. I am also able to handle emergencies via contacting your vet and communicating with you.
A typical visit of mine will include feeding, watering and cleaning the litter tray, and the rest will involve playtime and cuddles!
Along with my aforementioned services I am more than happy to send regular updates and lots of pictures via Whatsapp!
Booking with me will guarantee some very happy cats when you return from wherever you're going! If you're looking for someone who will spend lots of time and care for all your cat's needs, allow me to be your person.

Hello, my name is Rachael & I am your crazy (in a good way) cat lady!
I live in East Lothian & drive.
I am owned by four Sphynx cats & I also work as a cattery assistant.
Whether it's your common domestic moggy or posh pedigree I will give them the exact same amount of care & love.
No cat too big, too small, too timid or too feisty! I have seen them all.
I am competent in specialised diets, including raw. Grooming/pampering. Administering medication including injecting/diabetic cats.
It is a priority to me that you return to a happy & relaxed cat.
One & or two a day visits accepted.
Each visit will be 45 minutes
I will update you on every visit & I am happy to send photos & videos of your cat to you.
Cat sitting references available.
Happy to answer any questions.
Happy to visit you & your cat before booking.
I am also happy to include small mammals & exotics.

Hello everyone and thanks for checking out my profile. I’m Laszlo, a lifelong animal lover and dedicated dog sitter based in Craigmillar/Niddrie.
As a responsible and attentive carer, I offer tailored services based on your dog’s individual needs—whether they’re full of energy and need playtime and walks, or prefer a slower pace with cuddles and company. I’m experienced with dogs of small and medium sizes, puppy to adult ages, and I always strive to keep their routines as consistent and stress-free as possible.
Your pet’s wellbeing is my top priority, and I’m always happy to provide updates, photos, or video check-ins for peace of mind.
There’s nothing more rewarding than making a pet feel safe, loved, and happy while their humans are away or attending boring human stuff.
Let’s chat—I’d love to meet your pup!
** It is important you know that I don't hold any qualifications to - ,and hasn't been formally trained to handle animals of any type! I owned a jack russel terrier (size don't matter!) and regularly dog sit for friends so created this profile purely out of my love for dogs. **
