Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Portsmouth Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Portsmouth cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Portsmouth cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Privately Insured Hello! I'm Jason. I'm a 27 year old with a love for animals and walkies. I'm a lifelong animal lover and I'm very excited to help care for your furry (or indeed feathered!) family members. I've had pets my whole life, (check my profile to see some picture) and I have experience with everything between from energetic dogs that can leave you bruised and battered, to shy cats with anxiety. Your precious beasties are in safe hands! When I'm not looking after animals, I like to read and cook delicious vegan recipes. (No mess!) I'm the perfect houseguest , I leave nothing but metaphorical paw prints - I'm just grateful for the companionship. 🫂I offer house sitting and dog walking services! When your pet's with me, they'll get plenty of playtime, cuddles, and up to two walks a day.I'll send you daily high quality pupdates so you can see your pet having the time of their life. I'm usually available all day. This I can water your plants too. 🪴Taking Christmas bookings now! Don't be shy. I'm happy to negotiate always. Please reach out, I'd love to be your pets new best friend! Speak soon!

Hi! My names Rachel I'm 25, I've been a dog walker & dog boarder for nearly 5 years now. I run my own dog walking business and have done for 4 years. I'm very passionate about dogs, I love spending all my time getting to know all the dogs I can. Your dog will have so much fun with me on my daily group walks! I have my very own little doggy too he's very friendly and loves all dogs!
I walk and look after dogs all ages and sizes from toy to large! I have a load of experience. My home is their home whilst they're staying with me. All I ask is that your dog is friendly with people, dogs & is vaccinated before their stay with me.
As a full time dog walker, your dog will enjoy two - three group walks a day with other similar dogs that are all super friendly. They will get lots of love and attention at home, I have so many toys and games they can play with as well as a doggy pool in the garden. I like the dogs I look after to feel as home as they can during their stay with me.
I will send you photos & videos everyday of your dog hang loads of fun too!!
I always arrange free meet and greets before any service so you and your pup can get to know me. Pop me a message if you're interested
I am fully insured & council licensed with a 4* rating (highest star rating possible) so know that your dog will be taken care of at a high standard with lots of love.
Just to make it clear the services I provide is dog walking group or solo walks , dog sitting , dog boarding in my home, drop in services to your home for dogs or any small animals, if they need feeding or just caring for if you're out for the day. I also provide day care for dogs at my home not just overnight stays.
I have recently brought a house in Cosham (January 2025) it's super dog friendly with lots of dog beds, dog toys, a safe garden space with 6' fences all round, toys in the garden as well as a small dog pool for when it's hot. I've also got lots of enrichment & puzzle toys to stimulate the dogs while they're with me. I'm very relaxed with having dogs with me my home is also their home, the dogs are allowed on all the furniture like they would be at home. I have a load of treats (if the dog is allowed them) to share with them. I will send you my address and you're more than welcome to come round before the visit to see where your dog is staying. Thank you.

*I am relocating to Portsmouth in May and will be restarting my dog walking business there, so cannot take on new regular London clients at this time*I have loved dogs all my life and grew up with various breeds including a Labrador, Border Collie, Grey Hound, Lurcher, Springer Spaniel and whippets. Since I started walking dogs in London 4 years ago I have looked after many, many other breeds though, from Bichon Frise to Bernese Mountain Dog and I think all breeds have their own lovely special qualities. I particularly love Staffies for instance and am very confident with any strength or size. Every dog has their own wants, habits and physical limitations so I tailor walks according to that particular dog's needs (be it a high-powered walk covering lots of ground, lots of ball play or a very slow meander close to home) therefore I don't offer pack walks. If there is more than one dog from the same household of course and they enjoy walking together then that is different and I am very happy to walk more than one in those situations. So if for whatever reason you are unable to take your furry best friend out as much as you would like to or need someone to dog sit while you are away or just at work please get in touch!Happy to provide references upon request.

I have cared for animals since the day I was born. I grew up around large dogs (mastiffs) and love cuddles with small lap dogs. I help out with my brother's dog who has epilepsy, so I am confident administering medication and spotting the early signs of a seizure. Throughout my life, i have owned many cats and kittens. I currently own a handsome ginger boy called Romeo. I have also looked after chickens, guinea pigs, tortoises and fish. No pet will be left unloved!
I will respect your home and keep it clean and tidy. I will ensure your pet has everything they need to feel happy and safe.
Please let me know if your pet has any medical requirements, behaviour or specific needs I should be aware of. No pet is too big or small, I will love them all!
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you and your pets out :)

Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover who’s been raising dogs since I was 14—now 25 and still completely obsessed with all things furry (and feathery!). Back home in Myanmar, I had a Golden Retriever, Husky, and Poodle, and I miss them every day.
I’ve also cared for cats, birds, hamsters—even a rabbit or two! Being around animals makes me feel at home, and I’d love to turn that passion into something meaningful while I’m here. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or just being their new best friend, your pets are in loving hands with me!
With me, your pet gets more than just a walk—they get a buddy! I offer fun, safe dog walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and care A typical day includes tail wags, fetch marathons, sniff-and-stroll adventures, and lots of belly rubs.I treat every pet like my own whether we’re chasing a ball or just chilling together. Basically, I show up, your pet lights up. Let’s be furry friends!

I have always had a genuine love for animals, especially cats, which is why I chose to offer home visit pet sitting services. I understand that many cats feel most comfortable in their own environment, and my goal is to keep them relaxed, safe, and happy while you’re away. Being able to care for pets in their familiar surroundings allows me to maintain their routine and reduce any stress or anxiety.
My motivation comes from wanting to provide reliable and compassionate care that pet owners can trust. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when leaving your pet, and I take pride in being dependable, attentive, and respectful of both your home and your cat’s needs. Whether it’s feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, or simply spending quality time playing and giving attention, I tailor each visit to suit your pet.
I have previous experience caring for cats with different personalities and requirements, including shy cats, energetic kittens, and older cats who need a gentler approach. I’m patient, observant, and always focused on your pet’s wellbeing.
For health and safety reasons, I only care for vaccinated pets during my visits, helping to ensure a safe environment for every animal I look after.

I’ve always had a special connection with cats—their unique personalities, quiet companionship, and independent yet affectionate nature truly resonate with me. Growing up in a household with multiple cats, I learned early on how to care for them, understand their body language, and respect their space. Whether it's feeding, grooming, playing, or simply providing a calm presence, I enjoy every aspect of being around cats.
My motivation to be a cat sitter comes from both my love for felines and my desire to help cat owners feel at ease when they're away. I know how sensitive cats can be to changes in their environment or routine, and I take pride in offering gentle, reliable, and attentive care that keeps them feeling safe and comfortable in their own home. Every cat is different, and I take the time to get to know each one individually—because they deserve nothing less than thoughtful, loving care.
