Top cities for cat sitting in United Kingdom

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Prestwich Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Prestwich cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Prestwich cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember🩷. Growing up in India, my family raised a Labrador, two German Shepherds, and a Beagle — one after the other. So I've spent the better part of my life feeding, walking, playing with, and simply being around dogs in every stage of their life.Moving to the UK after getting married has been a wonderful new chapter, but I'll be honest, one of the things I miss most is having a dog by my side. I'm not in a position to commit to owning one just yet, so dog sitting feels like the perfect way to do what I love while being a genuine comfort and companion for your dog when you're away.I may not have formal pet sitting experience here in the UK yet, but I'm a natural with dogs and anyone who knows me will tell you that whenever I visit a friend's home with a pet, the dog ends up getting most of my attention! That's just who I am.For my first booking, I'd truly appreciate the chance to meet your dog with you, learn their routine, their quirks, what they love, and what they're not so sure about. Give me that first introduction and I promise I'll take it from there. keeping your pup happy, safe, and well looked after like they're my ownServices offered- home visits, dog walking and sleepovers at your place

Hi
I’m a huge animal lover with a caring and gentle nature. I know pets are part of the family, so I always make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away.
I have my own cat called Bluebell (5y), who is a shy ragdoll, so I understand how important patience, routine, and trust are when caring for pets with different personalities. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, whether that’s going on walks, playing, feeding, or simply giving them company and attention.
I have experience caring for cats and dogs for friends and family, and I’m always happy to follow your pet’s usual routine to help them feel relaxed and settled.
I’d love the chance to care for your pets as if they were my own!
Services I offer; -Dog walking,-Pet sitting in owners home (to avoid any extra stress for the animal whilst you are away) -Daycare-Drop-in's
It would be my pleasure to take care of your pet in your temporary absence. Anything you need I'm there for you and your loved one.
Thanks for your time.
Terry

I’ve been a dog mom for as long as I can remember, growing up with two lovely dogs back home, one is 9 and the other is 7. They’ve been such a big part of my life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. From daily walks and feeding routines to just spending time with them and understanding their moods, I’ve always been very involved and attached to them.
Since I’m now studying abroad, I honestly miss them a lot. That’s a big reason why I want to do pet sitting because it gives me a chance to be around dogs again and do something I genuinely enjoy.I’m very comfortable with different dog personalities. One of my dogs is very energetic and clingy, while the other is older and much calmer, so I understand how to adjust based on their energy levels. I can offer 1 to 2 walks per day depending on your dog’s needs, usually around 15 to 30 minutes each. I always make sure walks are safe and avoid situations with dogs that seem aggressive or unpredictable.
For home visits, I typically stay around 30 minutes. During that time, I focus on feeding, playtime, giving them attention, and just keeping them company so they don’t feel alone. I’m also happy to follow any specific instructions or routines you have.
I’m very patient and gentle, especially with nervous dogs. I take my time to let them get comfortable, speak softly, and create a calm environment so they feel safe around me.
I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing.
I know how much pets mean to their owners, so I would treat your dog like my own with a lot of care, attention, and love.

Hi, my name is Gigi. I’m a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, and I would love to take care of your babies anytime!
I have my own dogs back in Thailand, so I truly understand how difficult it can be to find someone you trust to care for your dog with genuine love and attention. That’s why I treat every pet as if they were my own.
Spending time with dogs makes me genuinely happy. I love caring for them, playing with them, and learning about their unique personalities. I’m a fast learner, positive, open-minded, and responsible person — and I can’t wait to get to know your dog better.
Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I will carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walking routines, medication (if any), and house rules. I make sure pets are always supervised, walked safely on a leash (unless otherwise instructed), and kept in a secure environment. I’m also happy to provide regular updates, photos, and videos for your peace of mind.
I’m available Monday to Sunday with a flexible schedule. Once you hire me, we can discuss all the details to make sure everything is tailored to your pet’s needs.
I would be very happy to help with pet sitting at your home or wherever needed.Nice to meet you, and I hope I can help take care of your babies soon 🤍

Hi, I'm Eliana :)
I'm a deeply compassionate, spiritual and caring person and I love looking after both humans and animals.
I have been pet sitting professionally as well as house sitting for nearly 2 years now, however, I have always loved animals since being a small child and have cared for many pets over the years for friends and family members.
I live in Media City in Manchester and was working as a make up artist for many years but after much deliberation I decided to take some time for myself and explore other career options. A big reason for my career/lifestyle change was due to struggling with pressure and anxiety and being with animals and spending more time in nature was something I really wanted to do and in fact needed to do and it has changed my life, I've finally found my joy :)
One of the reasons I love being around animals is that they are therapeutic and very soothing for the soul.
I'm embarking on a reiki journey and want to be a healer. (Update - I have now completed reiki 1 so can reiki your pets if you like! Part 2 coming up soon :) )
I would love to take care of your fur babies for you and would take care of them as if they were my own, I like to talk to the pets in my care, sing to them, cuddle them, play them classical music and take them on leisurely walks, amongst other things and I have experience with Dogs, cats, horses, goats, Alpacas, Chickens and fish!
I have a lot of love and patience for all animals and have experience with young puppies and kittens as well as elderly dogs and cats and timid animals too and can provide excellent testimonials from the current and previous pet owners I've worked with.

Hiya this is Cecilia! Although I didn't have pets growing up, I've always dreamed of having furry friends around. Being with animals genuinely brightens my day, and I love every moment spent with them. With a pug, border collie, and two mixed cats from friends and family, I've learned how to give them the care and love they need when their owners are away. From walks and playtime to feeding and cuddles, I make sure they're happy and well looked after.
Being a pet sitter is incredibly fulfilling for me. I know how important it is for you, as a responsible pet owner, to have peace of mind, especially during busy times or vacations. I'm reliable and trustworthy, and I see each booking as a commitment. Let's chat about how I can tailor my services to suit your pets' needs.
I'm here to help, so feel free to ask any questions or discuss your pet care requirements!

Looking for someone who genuinely cares about your pet’s well-being while you're away?
Hello! I’m Amiee, a passionate animal lover based in Manchester, offering dog walking, home visits, and day care services for your beloved pets. I’ve been around animals since I was young — my family raised poodles, and I’ve also helped care for relatives’ pets, including schnauzers and a gentle German shepherd.
Although I’m new to Pawshake, I have years of hands-on experience caring for pets and truly enjoy spending time with them. While I don’t currently have a pet due to my changing work situation, I fully understand the daily needs of animals and how important it is for them to feel safe, loved, and well cared for. I’m calm, gentle, and always attentive to each pet’s unique personality and comfort.
I offer flexible scheduling during both weekdays and weekends, and I’m always happy to follow specific routines, feeding instructions, and preferences. You’ll also receive regular photo and message updates so you can feel connected and reassured while you're away.

Here’s what I currently offer:
Dog Walking – 30-minute relaxed or energetic walks tailored to your dog’s needs
Home Visits – Feeding, playtime, cleaning, and companionship during short visits
Pet Day Care – Daytime care in a calm, pet-friendly home (no overnight stays)
Overnight Stays – At your home, for pets who need company and care throughout the night
Tailored Dietary Care – Meals prepared and served according to your pet’s usual routine

Please note: I do not offer dog boarding services. Thank you for your understanding! I only accept vaccinated pets to ensure the safety and well-being of all animals in my care.

I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets! Let’s connect and discuss how I can support your pet care needs while you’re away.

I’ve always had a deep love for animals — they’ve been such an important part of my life. I’ve cared for cats and dogs for many years, and now I have my own lovely cat living with me here in the UK. She came all the way from China, and taking care of her through that big journey has taught me so much about patience, trust, and gentle communication. What I OfferI provide home visits for cats and dog walking services. I can feed them, refresh their water, clean litter trays, give medication if needed, and spend time playing or cuddling — whatever makes them feel safe and loved while you’re away. For dogs, I offer calm, caring walks, always following their pace and making sure they feel relaxed and happy. A Little About My PlaceI live in a quiet flat with no balcony, which makes it safe for pets when I do home visits. There’s also a lovely park nearby — perfect for peaceful walks or a bit of playful energy release. My ApproachI truly believe animals can feel our emotions. I always take time to read their body language and understand what they need — whether that’s attention, playtime, or a little space. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, understood, and genuinely cared for.If you’re looking for someone gentle, patient, and loving to look after your furry friend, I’d be very happy to help ️

Hello,
I Am Aishwarya kuppa I am currently pursuing my masters in advanced physiotherapy in salford. I am from India and since a kid I Loved and grew up between pets like dogs .. I had 5 dogs since childhood and currently have one dog back home and he's name Is lucky and he is 8 years old male Pomeranian. He Is also one of the main reason I want to be a pet sitter it gives me a chance to be around pets and take care of them and love them just like I would do to lucky if he would be here with me I miss him soo much and I have lot of experience in taking care of pets as I had 6 on my own. I am really interested to be a pet sitter as it gives me an opportunity to be around pets and takecare of them. I can take them on walks, I can play with them and give lots of cuddles and love. I prefer dogs only as I have no experience in taking care of cats or any other animals as I don't have any experience like I do with dogs. I prefer taking in only vaccinated pets. I would find myself really lucky to be a pet sitter more than a physiotherapist honestly it gives me lot of peace and happiness just being around them and taking care of them .

My partner Natalie and I are lifelong animal lovers who have recently relocated from New Zealand and are excited to connect with pets here in the UK. We’ve both grown up surrounded by animals and have over 10 years of combined experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, personalities, and needs. We’ve completed pet‑sitting roles through Pawshake and privately, and we genuinely love looking after other people’s furry family members.
Back home, our family dogs include a gentle rescue greyhound, an energetic collie cross, and a princess‑like shih tzu. We miss having dogs around day‑to‑day, so spending time with your pets is something we genuinely look forward to. Whether it’s playtime, quiet company, cuddles, or simply respecting their space, we’re attentive to what each animal needs to feel safe and happy.
We’re confident with rescues, puppies, seniors, and energetic dogs alike, and have cared for everything from small breeds like Shih Tzus and Maltese crosses to medium and large dogs including German shepherds, Italian water dogs, and poodle mixes.
Availability
Currently we are available morning, afternoon, and evening, and can be flexible depending on your pet’s routine. We both work, but can work from home most days.
Please note that we do not have a vehicle, so if your home is more than a 20 minute train ride from Manchester city centre, we are unlikely to be able to accommodate your booking. Sorry!
What We Offer
• Pet care tailored to your animal’s routine including feeding, playtime, enrichment, brushing, and companionship
• Basic medication administration (oral only)
• Confidence with shy, anxious, or rescue pets
• Regular photo and message updates so you feel connected while you’re away
Home Visits
If you book home visits, we typically stay 30–45 minutes per visit, but are happy to stay longer depending on your pet’s needs.
This can include:
• Feeding, fresh water, litter cleaning
• Playtime, cuddles, or quiet company
• Watering plants and bringing in mail
• Light home‑care tasks to keep things tidy and secure
Dog Walking
Our dog walks are usually 30-60 minutes, but we can adjust for puppies, seniors, or high‑energy dogs.
We love exploring local parks, neighbourhood routes, and green spaces, and we always walk according to your dog’s pace, training level, and comfort.
House Sitting
During house sitting, we can stay in your home for the majority of the day, ensuring your pet has company and your home feels lived‑in and secure.
We take home security seriously by:
• Keeping doors and windows locked
• Following your instructions for alarms or routines
• Maintaining a normal presence so the home never looks empty.
We’re active people who enjoy long walks and exploring new neighbourhoods, but we also love cosy evenings in with a movie or a book. This is perfect for pets who enjoy routine and companionship.
We’d love to meet you and your furry companions and help make your time away completely stress‑free.
