Good day all, I'm Rachel.
I have been around cats since I can remember you will see a photo of me back in the late 80s with my old cat Smokey looking after me in the cot. I remember following smokey around when I was five years old, or was it the other way round?? All in all I loved her so much when she passed I felt like I lost a friend but my mum and dad then went on to own four more cats. With all awesome personalities of their own, Dusty Bandit, Dylan and Basil, I learnt at a young age how different cats were and how to interact with them all in their own ways, Dusty just wanted hugs all the time, bandit needed her own space and stroke when she was ready, Dylan kepts bring back birds and thanking him while you set the bird free to Basil well bless him he was a window licker cat but had the biggest heart and one as a young girl could always hug. Fast forward to me now being 36 living in Devon and having two cats of my own. An awesome Yuki a very intelligent cat that can meow in certain ways to know what see needs to Meeko my bi colour British shorthaired who was a lock down cat and sadly suffers from some form of anxiety but I give her the a quiet space she needs and she loves her home always running round and calling out for me for more strokes! Safe to say I have had years of experience with all types of cats to give you the reassurance I will treat yours like my own. I have suffered with anxiety myself and I am very hyper aware of if my cats are safe, grooming them and playing with them all I would do the same for my client cats. I'm also a super clean person so happy to clean poo, wash food bowels where needed. Finally I work from home three days a week out of the five so am flexible if near by to pop in on my lunch breaks to check in on your loved ones or when I finish work at 5pm for longer journeys and longer play times and hugs.&nbsp;Finally you may have noticed that I am out down I am not available most Mondays and Tuesdays due to me being in the office in Exeter but do message me if you live in the area of Exeter or through to Honiton as I can always stop in on your cats after I finish at 5pm.


I am a smiley and friendly girl, who adores pets. I've always had pets since I was born. I had dogs, cats, parrots, chickens and fish. I love to look after them.
I live on the seaside with my husband, in Axminster, Devon. We live in a 3 bedroom house with a nice green front and a safe, fully fenced and closed back garden. There is a small park just next to our house also some other lovely parks around my area, for 1-2 mins walking distance from our home.
My services: I do home boarding, but I am able to come to your home to feed and/or take your dog for walks several times a day, if you are away or unable/do not have time for walks.
Also if you have cats or any other pets, I'd love to look after them too, to feed them and play with them while your are away.
I have experience with a wide variety of animals and all different breeds of dogs, from tiny Chihuahuas to Great Danes.
I have experience with working breeds, rescue dogs, excitable puppies, senior dogs and those who need some extra attention.
I work from home Mo-Fri.
I have experience in giving medication to pets, also injection for diabetes.
I am happy to day care pets, also boarding is possible in my home. I always suit myself to the owner and the pet needs. I always follow the instructions provided: daily routines, meal times, walking times and length, play times, medication if the pet needs. The pets usually staying in my spacious living room, if they have a crate or bed, blanket, there is plenty of space there. I live in a nice, cosy and warm house.
I always follow the owner's instructions and their pet need as all pets are different and all diets are different.
I always adapt the walks to the pet's age and physical condition, as the owner requests.

With my husband we schedule our jobs to make sure one of us is staying at home with the pet. I mostly work from home.
I usually look after pets from 1 owner at a time (2-3 dogs are also welcome from the same owner). I do not own any pets myself at the moment.
I used to be a junior dog groomer and dog walker at Pets in the City Ltd. in North Kensington, London from March 2015 till Dec. 2018.
I graduated at Bicton College for Level 3 Dog grooming diploma with Disctinction in 2021 July. I achieved my Level 2 in 2020 with Distinction as well.
I have Pet insurance also qualified in Animal First Aid (Heavenlys + Bicton College).
I successfully completed: COVID-19 awareness training at Skills for Health.

*I am unavailable between 8am and 4pm weekdays due to work (apart from school holidays!)*&nbsp;I'm an animal loving Primary School Teacher based in East Devon. I love all animals however I do have a particular fondness for dogs! I have had dogs all my life (amongst other pets) but unfortunately do not have the time for my own.&nbsp;I offer dog walking services, feeding and company visits for all pets and boarding in your home. I am happy to do shorter or longer home visits, water plants, collect mail and help with any other jobs I can. I am available some weekends, most evenings from 4pm and school holidays.&nbsp;A passion of mine is exploring the local area in hikes and long walks. I love swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding.  I have experience looking after a range of animals from small furries such as hamsters, to bigger farm animals such as sheep and goats.&nbsp;At the weekends I volunteer at an animal sanctuary walking dogs close to the Blackdown Hills. I have experience working on a  community farm and love being outdoors!&nbsp;I am a friendly, hard working and reliable person who loves meeting new people and helping people with their animals. I look forward to using Pawshake as a way of looking after lots of new animals and meeting people.
